Your ten minute FREE Health Check will consist of the following:

1. Body Mass Index (BMI)

Your BMI = weight (kg) / height (m2).
Extreme obesity is defined as a BMI greater than 40.
Obesity is defined as a BMI between 30 and 40.
Overweight is defined as a BMI of 25 to 29.99.
Well muscled people may have a BMI of 25-26, which for them is normal.

2. Blood Pressure

Your Blood pressure is the systolic measurement of pressure over the diastolic measurement of pressure.
The systolic reading (the first number of the two) indicates the pressure of blood within your arteries during a contraction of the left ventricle of your heart. The diastolic reading (the second number) indicates the pressure within the arteries when your heart is at rest. Blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg); for example, 120/80 mmHg (known as 120 over 80)

3. Cholesterol

Cholesterol is an essential type of fat that is carried in the blood. All cells in the body need cholesterol for internal and external membranes. It is also needed to produce some hormones and for other functions. The body generally makes all the cholesterol it needs. Some dietary cholesterol is normally excreted via the liver, however eating too much saturated fat leads to excess cholesterol in the blood stream. Your cholesterol is measured in units called millimoles per litre of blood “mmol/L”.
Normal is below 5.5 mmol/L.

4. Blood Sugar

This test will help tell you if you are at risk of developing diabetes, or if you have undiagnosed diabetes.

5. Waist Measurement

A high waist measurement is an independant risk factor for all the complications of being overweight - even if your weight is 'normal'.
